The RTU Riga Business School (RBS) was established in in 1991 in cooperation with the State University of New York at Buffalo, USA and the University of Ottawa, Canada.


RBS, now the leading business school in the Baltics, offers management programs both at the undergraduate and graduate levels and RBS was the first higher education institution in the region to offer a North American management style MBA in English. At the master's level the school offers an Executive MBA, an evening Professional MBA, and a fulltime day MBA program. At the baccalaureate level the school offers a Bachelor of Management in International Business program. The RBS English Language Center provides the highest quality language instruction in support of RBS academic programs and it serves a diverse set of business and community needs.


RBS has over a thousand MBA alumni, the majority of whom occupy leading managerial positions in Latvia and internationally. It also has participated in a number of comprehensive management education institution building projects in Eastern Europe, funded by both USAID and the Latvian government.


The Director will be an innovative leader and strategic thinker who shares our vision to offer a high quality internationally recognized business education to a growing student population. That requires a deep understanding of contemporary higher education and a proven record of leadership. The Director will also provide strong entrepreneurial leadership to further develop and enhance the School's international position and reputation as well as strengthen school ties with business, the community, and governmental entities. To accomplish these objectives the Director will be astute politically and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.


The Director reports directly to the Rector of Riga Technical University and the appointment by the Rector is for a five (5) year term. A PhD is strongly preferred but not required.
