RBS Director Elections 2018

On the 11th of June, the Riga Technical University Riga Business School (RTU RBS) Advisory Board held their meeting, during which it was unanimously decided to recommend Mr Jānis Grēviņš for the position of Director of RTU Riga Business School. According to the Bylaws, the Director of RTU Riga Business School is elected every five years.

The election process was conducted in accordance with the Bylaws of RTU RBS. The Bylaws dictate that the selection process must be consistent with the practices employed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In accordance with this, the Advisory Board elected a separate Nomination Committee consisting of representatives of RBS students, faculty,  staff and Advisory Board, as well as representatives of RTU. The vacancy was announced at the end of February, after which the Nomination Committee pre-screened the candidates and selected three finalists. The finalists were interviewed by the Nomination Committee, RBS faculty, staff, as well as the RBS Council. Following the interviews, each group provided their recommendations. Having summarized the results, the Nomination Committee put forward two candidates for the consideration of the Advisory Board.

In making their decision, the RBS Advisory Board took into account the recommendations of the Nomination Committee, RBS Council, staff and faculty, which all supported Mr Jānis Grēviņš for the position of the Director of RBS.

In accordance with the RBS Bylaws, the next and final step in the process is the appointment of the recommended candidate by the RTU Senate, which is expected to be held on the 25th of June.
