Students learn presentation skills at RBS24 2020 start-up workshop

On January 20 RTU Riga Business School (RBS) in cooperation with Junior Achievement Latvia (JA Latvia) organized the workshop RBS24 for students with start-ups. During the workshop participants learned effective ways of presenting their start-ups locally, nationally and on the European level during the finals of start-ups competition.

At the beginning of the workshop, Claudio Rivera, director of the RBS Bachelor program, shared advice that will help young people to develop both their current start-ups and their future business ideas. As part of the workshop, there were lectures by RBS lecturer Viesturs Sosārs and MBA program director Aldis Greitāns.
In the workshops, the young people developed a presentation of their start-ups by preparing a 4-minute pitch. Each group worked with a student mentor from the RBS Bachelor program.
Pitches were assessed by a jury: Anna Peipiņa (BrainGames), Marija Rucevska (TechChill), Sarmīte Karlsone (LIAA), Kaspars Garkevičs (LATBAN), Normunds Bergs (SAF Tehnika), Harolds Baumanis (Sunscrisp), Jānis Grēviņš (RBS), Claudio Rivera (RBS), Aldis Greitans (RBS), Viesturs Sosārs (RBS), Paula Elksne (RBS) and Inese Romaņeca (RBS). They provided valuable input and pointed out the strong and weak aspects of their presentations. They encouraged students to develop their ideas and not be afraid to fulfil their dreams.

At the end of the workshop, the students were awarded certificates.

Participants in the RBS24 workshop represented 25 start-ups from Rīga, Bauska, Ādaži, Babīte, Ogre, Jaunpiebalga, Jelgava, Madona, Mārupe, Gulbene, Daugavpils, Liepāja, Iecava, Druva, Kārsava and Sigulda.
