| Janis Grevins re-elected as director of the RTU Riga Business School | |
Janis Grevins, PhD, was reelected by the RTU Senate and approved by the RBS Advisory Board as Director of the RTU Riga Business School for the next five years to come.
J.Grevins has been on this post since 2003. During this time RBS with its recognized MBA programs, English language programs and professional certifications has maintained the leading position in the management education in the Baltics. The school has received CEEMAN International Quality Accreditation the leading accreditation for management programs of Eastern/Central Europe. RBS was succesful in attracting full time MBA faculty to the school and forming a highly respected group of professional faculty among them former CEO of Hansabanka Ingrīda Blūma, former CEO of Microlink, chairman of FMS Jānis Bergs, Finance Director of IT company Tilde Raimonds Lieksnis, board chairman of SIA AIMS International Latvia/Fontes grupa Daiga Ērgle, etc.
In 2008, organization Eduniversal, formed by leading French studentt orientation company SMBG, has placed RBS among top 1000 business schools in the world, along with two other schools from Latvia RISEBA and Banku Augstskola. RBS was the first business school in Eastern Europe to sign an agreement with Harvard Business School Publishing on special access to its cases and other teaching materials. Last year RBS was joined by Education USA Information and Testing Center in Riga, thus concentrating all North-American style education advice and testing services under one roof.
RBS has succesfully developed the preparation course offer for CFA or Chartered Financial Analyst Professional certificate exams. Certification courses in marketing are currently under development and will be available in September. RBS English Language center has become the largest adult English language training center in Latvia servicing about 1300 students per year.
The school has attracted significant funding from its Alumni, and, co-sponsored by the Riga Technical University, the renovation works of the first and second floors of the RBS building on Skolas street 11 will be completed by September, 2008.
In the last five years we have achieved a lot under leadership of Janis Grevins, and are looking forward to further develop the school to join the front ranks of top business schools in Europe, says Chairman of the RBS Advisory board, ex-Vice President and CIO of State University of New York at Buffalo, Voldemars Innus.
J.Grevins has a PhD and MBA degrees from State University of New York at Buffalo, and bachelors degree from Latvia University, Faculty of Economics.
