What is the language of instruction for the RBS MBA ?
All programs at RBS are taught only in English. This is regardless of whether the professor is local or visiting form another country.
What educational background do I need to study in the MBA programs?
In order to study at Riga Business School (RBS) MBA programs you must hold a University diploma or Bachelor's degree and your grade transcript should contain information about the following courses being taken:
1) calculus and statistics
2) introduction into economics
3) principles of accounting
What do I do if I do not have a Degree in Economics or Sciences?
If you have a degree in a non related field, you must first enrol in the Pre - MBA (preparatory program) at RBS. The pre-MBA program will introduce you to the following business content subjects: calculus and statistics, introduction into economics, principles of accounting.
What are the main differences between the Professional MBA, Full-time MBA and EMBA programs?
There are two main differences: admission requirements and class format.
Applicants to the EMBA program must have a minimum of five years working experience in a managerial position to apply for this program.
Although work experience is not a requirement for Professional MBA program applicants, most students enrolled are also currently working. Work experience is not required for Full-time MBA students.
Class formats differ the following ways: Professional MBA classes are held in the evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., Full-time MBA classes are held during the day from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., but EMBA classes are held twice a month on weekends (Saturday: from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Sunday: from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.). If there is a necessity, professors are available for consultation on Fridays from 2-8 pm.
How often will I need to attend classes in the MBA program?
It depends on how many courses you take per trimester: you will need one evening per course
(6–9pm). Usually students take two courses per trimester (14 weeks), but it is up to you to decide.
What is the length the program?
To graduate you must take 16 courses in Professional MBA and 20 courses in Full-time MBA. In the Professional MBA program it takes 2.5 years to graduate, but in the Full-time MBA 2 years. The EMBA consists of 21 courses and can be accomplished in 1.5 years.
How much does the program cost?
In Professional MBA students pay for the courses they are taking in the current semester.
Do I have to take any tests to get into the program?
The admission requirements to enter the MBA programs are the same and you will need to complete the following tests:
- TOEFL (minimum score required - 550)
- TWE (Test of Written English)
- Intellectual Test for Professional MBA and Executive MBA programs, and GMAT for Full-time MBA program.

Is the MBA from RBS internationally acknowledged?
Yes. When you graduate from this program, you get a diploma issued by Riga Technical University and a certificate signed by the rectors of the University of Buffalo (USA) and University of Ottawa (Canada). Our students have gone on to study in Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and Great Britain.
