The CFA charter is the designation of excellence in the investment community. CFA charterholders can use their knowledge working in banks, brokerages and insurance companies, audit and consultation companies, pension funds, government offices, market supervisory institutions, universities and as financial managers for any company.
The CFA programs commitment to upholding ethics, educational rigor, and professional excellence is why the Economist termed the CFA charter „the gold standard” in a February 2005 article.
To become a CFA charterholder you have to pass three levels of exams and have four years of relevant professional work experience. CFA Program was created in 1963 in the U.S. Now more than 100 000 candidates from over 150 countries enroll for one of the three levels of the CFA Program annually.

CFA charterholders share their experience:
„I was reading the books for an hour per day, on weekends – for a full day. Three springtimes went like this. But it was worth the effort - CFA charter is like a pass to another, higher level. When meeting partners in London or NewYork, you are able to speak the same language, and they notice and appreciate it.”
Toms Silins, CFO and board member of Swedbank,CFA charterholder since 1999
„CFA was the optimal alternative for a good MBA program abroad – both in costs and in that I was able to continue my career. Bachelors’ and masters’ degrees can vary depending on the university rankings, but the demands for CFA charter are the same everywhere.”
Raivo Vanags, Head of Market Operations of the Bank of Latvia, CFA charterholder since 2002
„CFA is a program for practitioners. It was a good complement to my financial masters degree from Stockholm School of Economics.”
Renars Rusis, head of Financial markets at Swedbank,CFA charterholder since 2006
