GRE® Test


The GRE® Test is taken by prospective graduate school applicants interested in Master or PhD program studies in USA and the test results are accepted in all fields of study programs and even by a fast-growing number of business schools. There are two types of GRE® Test: In cooperation with the Educational Testing Service (ETS), RTU Riga Business School offers the the GRE® revised General Test and he Graduate Record Examinations® Subject Test.


  • GRE® General Test

The paper-based GRE® General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study. Total testing time is up to 3¾ hours.


  • GRE® Subject Test

Each Subject Test is intended for students who have extensive background in one of these eight disciplines - Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology. This test is required in addition to the GRE® General test in approximately 10% of Universities in USA. Plan to be at the test center up to 3,5 hours for a Subject Test.

GRE® General Test - $190
GRE® Subject Test - $160


Online registration

Official Test scores will be sent to you and the score recipients you designated within six weeks after you take the test. Test scores are valid 5 years.


NB! In case you miss all the registration deadlines you still have a chance to take the exam without prior registration as a standby test taker. Standby testing may be available if sufficient space, test materials, and staff are available at the test center. The GRE® Test for standby test takers costs additional $50. Report to the test center by 8:15 a.m. with a completed registration form, payment, and acceptable photo ID. Stand-by Registration form can be obtained at the RBS Information Center.
